Aurora police said Thursday they have arrested a juvenile male in connection with threats made against the city’s Rangeview High School.

Investigators did not release the suspect’s name or age but say he faces a charge of interfering with staff, faculty or students at a school.

Police say they began investigating after the high school’s resource officer received a report of a threat made by email.

“It was determined that the threat was not credible,” police said in a news release.

Police say the case is still under investigation and detectives are interviewing witnesses.

Patti Moon, spokeswoman for Aurora Public Schools, said she did not know Thursday whether the suspect was a student at Rangeview.

Moon said some parents opted to call in and excuse their children from school on Thursday in the threat’s wake. Extra security and police monitored Rangeview on Thursday as a precaution.
