Greeley fire investigators say they have ruled out “all potential accidental causes” that destroyed several cars and buildings and damaged two homes.

Dale Lyman, the Greeley Fire Department’s fire marshal, says authorities are still investigating what caused the blaze near the intersection of East 16th Street and Balsam Avenue.

Fire investigators have been able to determine the area of fire origin, but not a definitive cause, officials said.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the blaze.

“The fire was contained and confined to piles of debris consisting of trees and limbs which were being processed as fire wood,” Lyman said in a news release. “All available on duty Greeley personnel and crews were on scene to prevent the fast moving fire from extending into surrounding houses.”

No one was injured in the fire.
