Saturday. The Arvada Center’s current iron art show gets very real this weekend when the gallery hosts an actual iron pour on the premises. Multiple furnaces will be cranking up the heat, and demonstrators will be pouring molten metal into molds for production pieces and for what the center is calling “performance iron works.” The public can get in on the action. For $10, wannabe smiths can carve molds for pours and take the final pieces home. Or they can collect a ceramic piece by applying glaze to a raku bowl created by staff artisan Kazu Oba. There also will be glass demos, all a sideshow to the center’s “Fired,” exhibit that runs through Nov. 15. 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada. Free. 720-898-7200 or .
