Carlo Kemp and his family visited Notre Dame the past weekend.

Please allow the Fairview linebacker to gush.

“It was great to be out there a second time,” said Kemp of his official visit to South Bend, Ind. “Being the second time, it was awesome. I got to meet people, talk to admissions, academic advisors about if I go there, and I saw the buildings, the class rooms, the facilities and, of course, being at the game (versus Navy).

“I was meeting geniuses. People who go to Notre Dame are the top of the top. It was just cool being in that atmosphere. My little brother (Mariano) was with me … it was everything I expected.”

Kemp, of course, was pressed by locals and while he remains undecided, he did tell the Irish Sports Daily that “Notre Dame and Michigan are neck and neck.”

However, he said he’s not close to a decision and is in his home town of Boulder for his official visit to the University of Colorado this weekend.

And, yes, he recognizes the reference to “visiting” his hometown college as rather odd.

“It just feels weird, it’s right down the street and I’m not going on a plane,” he said. “But I’m really excited and looking forward to it.

“And even though it’s right down the street, there are some things I haven’t seen.”

Kemp also said he would like to possibly fit in a fourth recruiting trip, to UCLA, but has yet to confirm it.
