A 34-year-old Denver man Thursday was ordered held Friday on a $1 million bond, court records show.
Daniel Wright, suspected of first-degree attempted murder, appeared before a judge on Friday where the amount was set.
Wright is accused of firing upon a vehicle in a possible bout of road rage just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of East Orchard and South Buckley roads.
Police believe Wright, in a small pickup truck, fired out his back window at a Hyundai SUV, hitting the windshield on the passenger side. The shooting caused a three-vehicle wreck.
A woman in the passenger seat of SUV suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene and released, Brooks said. It was unclear if she was hit by a bullet fragment or shattered glass and authorities believe the SUV was not the intended target.
As Wright fled, authorities say, he caused two other crashes.
Wright was arrested by a sheriff’s deputy after a short foot pursuit, according to officials.
Wright is being held at the Arapahoe County jail.
Wright was last arrested by Westminster police in August 2010, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records. In February 2011 he was found guilty of driving under the influence and felony vehicular eluding and was sentenced to three years probation.
