Would you pay for a round-the-clock comedy channel, streamed at your convenience, with no commercial interruption? NBCUniversal is betting you will.

Coming in 2016, Seeso, an ad-free online comedy channel, will be available as a $4-per-month subscription service. The programming includes 40 years’ worth of “Saturday Night Live,” U.S. and U.K. versions of “The Office,” “Monty Python’s Flying Circus,” “The Kids in the Hall,” NBC late-night shows (with new episodes of Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and “SNL” available the next day), plus a slew of original comedy series.

Set to debut in January at and on streaming platforms, the service may end up on cable platforms, too.

The channel has a long list of original new comedy series, including “HarmonQuest,” combining live action and animation from “Community” and “Rick and Morty” creator Dan Harmon; “The UCB Show” from hosts, creators and Upright Citizens Brigade founders Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser; and reality-show spoof “Bajillion Dollar Propertie$” from executive producers Scott Aukerman, Ben Garant, Tom Lennon and Kulap Vilaysack.
