Colorado Springs police are investigating after a person checked into Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound early Sunday.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 4000 Colony Hill Circle at 2:32 a.m., police said.
“During the investigation officers discovered multiple shell casing in the street, but found no damage due to the shots fired,” according to police.
Less than an hour later, officers were alerted that someone had checked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police interviewed the person “It was discovered that this party was in fact involved in the shooting,” police said.
