It’s become somewhat of a tradition in college football. After a big win, college coaches, typically those with less than stellar rhythm, breakout in a locker room dance.
To be fair, most of them are solicited by eager, excited players to see their coach out of his normal element.
After Colorado State’s 38-23 win over in-state rival Air Force Saturday to claim the Ram-Falcon Trophy, head coach Mike Bobo was the latest to grace the world with his, uh, dance skills.
We’ll rank Bobo’s moves and how they compare to a couple other recent coach dances.
Grade: C+. Bobo played it safe here. He went with the faithful let’s jump around with the guys and pop out an occasional move. It works due to the immense energy from the players. He also avoided any big embarrassment, but the lack of risk drops him out of Honor Roll range.
Grade: A+ for effort, D- for execution. Swinney epitomizes the locker room dance. He’s done it for a few years and it’s always a play on recent dance crazes. This time it’s ‘The Whip’ and ‘Nae Nae.’ Unlike Bobo, Swinney goes full after it, no care of embarrassment. He has to work on that rhythm, though.
Grade: B. I respect Brown knowing his skillset here. He’s an old-school guy so he stuck with what he knows. His moves resemble an old uncle at a summer barbecue, but he’s on beat and is the best of the bunch because of that.
