Getting your player ready...

Fall is a fickle season. It starts so quaintly–hoodies, crisp evenings, leaves turning colors that inspire you to fill your status updates with terrible poetry. Like a 21st century fairy tale, you rise to pumpkin spice lattes and fall asleep with hot cider in your belly, oblivious to their near-identical cinnamon-sugar base. Halloween and Thanksgiving are ahead and you just know they’ll be great because they’re still far away.

Then, a cold rain sweeps in. That hoodie gets soaked. The leaves are ripped from their branches like wax strips off an especially hairy leg. The sugar from our lattes and cider makes the idea of candy sickening, which is cruel considering they’re practically giving it away at the end of October. All these kids show up at our doorstep one night for some reason–it’s Halloween, already? Forget candy–you don’t even . Your flight home for Thanksgiving is delayed, and when you finally do get there, everyone starts arguing about politics, the Macy’s Day parade, Star Wars–whatever they can sink their teeth into.

But then, you put on some music. The room falls quiet. “What is this noise?” your grandmother asks. “It’s ,” you tell her. “I can’t believe you’ve never heard of him. You’re even less cool than I remembered.” You all share a laugh. In that Hallmark moment, life is good. Once again, you’ve saved the day with a playlist of contemporary pop music.

And where in the world can you find a playlist like that, you ask? Look no further. From The Yawpers to Drake, the best songs of Fall 2015 for your listening pleasure. We’ll update it daily, too, so you never have to guess what you might be missing in music this confounded season.
