A Gypsum man has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and tampering with evidence related to a July crash in Eagle County.
Anthony Eugene Chase, 47, appeared Friday in Eagle County Court involving a fatal crash that killed 29 year-old Sergio Ordonez-Morales, according to an Eagle County District Attorney’s Office media release.
Chase is also charged with reckless driving in the July 23 incident on U.S. Highway 6.
Chase was driving a Mack truck westbound on U.S. 6 when it crossed the center line and hit a white Chevrolet van driven by Ordonez-Morales.
Ordonez-Morales died at the Vail Valley Medical Center from injuries suffered in the crash.
Chase, who is free on a $15,000 bond, has a court hearing scheduled on Nov. 17.
