GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Police say a Safeway employee lit several fires inside a Colorado store, continuing to start them even after firefighters arrived.
The Greeley Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1PUch3q ) that firefighters responded to a Greeley Safeway at about 4 a.m. Monday. Greeley police reports say the firefighters put out three different fires during the visit: one near the employee’s entrance to the pharmacy, one in the dairy cooler and one near the produce section.
Officers’ reports say surveillance video shows an 18-year-old employee standing near the pharmacy entrance with two bottles of lighter fluid shortly before the fire alarm went off. They say the man stayed in the store after firefighters arrived, spending about four minutes at the dairy cooler.
Police booked the employee on suspicion of arson.
