Friday-Sunday. In the age of slick, corporate-backed comic-cons and endless zombie-themed products, it’s refreshing to see a horror confab that hearkens to the schlocky, B-movie roots of modern cult-fandom. That’s not to say the first annual Colorado Horror Con & Halloween Film Festival doesn’t offer plenty of legitimate thrills over its Oct. 30-Nov. 1 run at the Ramada Plaza in Northglenn, just that that the vendors, exhibitors and guests lean toward that gloriously self-conscious form of gore and splatter (with some family-friendly concessions), from the “horror burlesque” show and tattoo/piercing exhibitions to a master of ceremonies in the form of Monstervision Drive-In and B-Movie reviewer Joe Bob Briggs. 10 E. 120th Ave. Tickets: $20-$200. .
