A dragnet is underway for a man charged with violent crimes who cut his ankle bracelet and fled, authorities say.

Earlier Friday Adams County officials sent out notices they were seeking two men who had cut their bracelets, but sent an updated notice about 3:15 p.m. that one of the two men had surrendered.

Both men, Miguel Dejesus Mendoza, 28, and Ernest Fuentes, 31, had been placed in ankle bracelets while they awaited trial. The two apparently acted independently.

Mendoza, who is still at large, is charged with first-degree assault, domestic violence and attempted homicide. He is 5-feet-6 and weighs 175 pounds.

Fuentes, who surrendered to police, had been charged with misdemeanor assault during a protection order violation. He is 5-feet-8 and weighs 200 pounds.
