CenturyLink confirms 27 more neighborhoods in Denver can now order gigabit Internet

CenturyLink said it has nearly tripled the number of Denver neighborhoods that can now order its gigabit Internet service — offerings download connections that are 40 times faster than the of 25 Mbps.

With the additional availability, the company says that gigabit is now available to 100,000 households in Denver.

Those new neighborhoods are Athmar Park, Berkeley, Capitol Hill, Chaffee Park, Cheeseman Park, Cherry Creek, City Park, Clayton, Country Club, East Colfax, Hale, Hilltop, Highlands, Montbello, Montclair, Regis, Speer, Skyland, Sloan’s Lake, Southmoor Park, Sunny side, Virginia Village, University Hills, Washington Virginia Vale, Wellshire, West Highlands and Whittier. In service in 16 neighborhoods. In May, Comcast also announced gigibit was coming this year to Denver customers. Here’s the last update we did on where gigiabit is or is coming in Colorado:

Prices are all over the place. CenturyLink offers a $80/month special with a 12-month contract plus the purchase of additional services. Comcast, where available, offers 2-gigabit speeds (there’s also an installation fee of $500 and activation fee of $500). Google Fiber, , is $70 a month for 1 gigabit.
