Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas and other Denver Broncos talked after the team’s 29-10 win over the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers. Here’s some of what they said.

BRONCOS QUARTERBACK PEYTON MANNING

On winning a game that honored owner Pat Bowlen

“Any time you’re putting your owner in the Ring of Fame, you have to win. It’s kind of a rule, right?”

BRONCOS DEFENSIVE END DEMARCUS WARE

On beating the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers

“We knew coming in this was a big measuring stick for us. Everybody took that to heart and stepped up to the challenge.”

Ware usually approaches Manning before big games to tell him it is time to “show up and show out.”

“Tonight, for the first time, he came up to me and said, ‘DeMarcus, we got to show up and show out.'”

BRONCOS WIDE RECEIVER DEMARYIUS THOMAS

On the win

“Some stuff takes time but tonight was one of our best nights. Looking forward to many more nights like that.”

On his performance

“Every chance I got I made plays. Also with the running game going, we got one-on-one coverage with DBs, so that was real big.”

BRONCOS RUNNING BACK C.J. ANDERSON

On his performance

“I just went out there and took what the defense gave me.”

“We were more decisive tonight. And give up to those guys upfront. They were tired of getting talked about too.”

On his teamwork with running back Ronnie Hillman

“Me and Ronnie, we’re just helping each other, using each other’s eyes and talking to each other on the sideline. We’re becoming more in-sync.”

BRONCOS RUNNING BACK RONNIE HILLMAN

On if he felt bad for Aaron Rodgers facing the Broncos defense

“No. Never. I don’t feel bad at all. I wouldn’t care if he had 0 yds.”

BRONCOS TIGHT END OWEN DANIELS

On the Broncos’ tight end production

“That’s what I’m used to for sure.”

“I did what I’m taught, stayed inside the numbers, made a move or two and ended up making something happen.”

BRONCOS TIGHT END VIRGIL GREEN

On his performance

“I feel like anytime I’m in man coverage I’m going to get open. Not to toot my own horn but I showed that tonight with my athleticism.”

PACKERS QUARTERBACK AARON RODGERS

On how often he looked downfield at blanketed receivers

“A good amount. They were covering well. That’s what you can

point to.”

“We didn’t get open enough to complete any passes. We tried some different things. But we didn’t execute what we wanted

to do. We were just inefficient on offense.”

PACKERS HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY

On the loss

“I haven’t had my (backside) kicked like that in a long time. They did a heck of a job covering us.”

“They were clearly a better team. For us, it was a very humbling loss. Gary Kubiak had his team playing a lot faster than

us. We didn’t get a rhythm going.”
