Wade Phillips had fun with Twitter after the Broncos’ 29-10 victory over the Packers on Sunday. The Broncos’ defensive coordinator took a jab — an innocuous but well-played one — at Packers fans , “Chicken Parm tastes so good-I like it especially with Cheese” Monday morning, a reference to Peyton Manning’s Nationwide commercials.

No offense to Packers and their fans-just having fun with Broncos fans–Aaron Rogers still remains a great-great Q B

Phillips’ defense held Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers to 14-of-22 passing for only 77 yards and sacked him three times Sunday. Manning, meanwhile, completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 340 yards with one interception to quiet the critics — if only temporarily.
The playful jab by Phillips was just that, as he has a routine every Thursday of mentioning the Texas (or non-Texas) roots of his upcoming opponent and always makes a point to praise them. This past week was no exception.
“He’s a great quarterback and he’s like our quarterback — he’s a great person, too,” Phillips said of Rodgers last Thursday. “I always admired him that way, on and off the field. He’s a great example for the National Football League of how you play football — play really well and then be a great guy off the field.”
