Kyle Clark, KUSA “Tonight, a correction and an apology.”

KUSA-Channel 9 put anchor Kyle Clark on camera to issueover the station’s shoddy reporting on the Jeffco recall effort. Apparently the “truth test” failed the truth test.

In the taped apology, Clark says, “You deserve to know how these errors happened and how they’ll be prevented in the future.” He doesn’t mention it was reporting by Nelson Garcia that got 9News into trouble, according to a former longtime station employee. Clark simply confirms that the Jeffco reporting “failed to meet our standards for journalism.”

The story contained “multiple errors” and corrections are posted online. Clark said the station is “sincerely sorry for our errors” and is taking steps to restore standards. He didn’t name specifics.

So, who will take the fall?
