Broncos defense end Derek Wolfe was named the AFC’s defensive player of the week following the team’s 29-10 win over the Packers on Sunday.

The honor is the first of Wolfe’s career and the third for the Broncos’ defense this season; Aqib Talib was named the conference’s top defender after Week 1 against Baltimore, and T.J. Ward was given the honor after Week 4 against Minnesota.

Wolfe, who was also named the team’s defense of player of the week, recorded a career-high seven tackles, including one for loss, in the Broncos’ victory.

His seven tackles are the most by a Broncos defensive lineman this season, and helped contain the Packers’ offense to just 140 net yards.
