A suspect identified through a DNA match has been charged in a 2008 Denver sex assault.
Leonard Botello, 45, was identified as a suspect earlier this year and was arrested Oct. 30, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Botello is suspected of an Oct. 3, 2008, attack on a 61-year-old woman in Cesar Chavez Park, in the 4100 block of Tennyson Street.
Botello allegedly solicited the woman for sex, she refused, and he attacked, according to a media release.
He remains in custody at the Denver jail. Botello’s bond has been set at $50,000.
His next court appearance is scheduled Thursday to be formally advised of the charge.
