COMMERCE CITY — Commerce City, state and federal officials on Thursday announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who shot a police officer Sunday.

Officer Kevin Lord’s ballistic vest stopped the bullet, and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident, police said, Lord was walking toward a maroon Nissan Pathfinder that was stopped in the road, Commerce City Police Chief Troy Smith said.

The license plate on the Pathfinder was 697-UNZ.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40s or early 50s, with a thin build and brown hair. He was wearing broken glasses and a black-and-white scarf around his neck.
