Don’t listen to the rumors. The Feed-a-Family program inspired by philanthropist “Daddy” Bruce Randolph will feed , in spite of losing a major corporate sponsor, organizers said Thursday.
News that the sponsor left led to rumors that the Epworth Foundation, which provides the baskets to needy families, was unable to hold the event this year. The foundation has collected $110,000, so far this year, and hopes to get another $50,000 before the distribution on Nov. 21, Rev. King Harris, who organizes the distribution, said Thursday.
Volunteers are still needed to distribute at least 5,000 baskets. “My volunteers aren’t signing up because they don’t think we are going to do it. We will do it,” Harris said.
