Police in Colorado Springs are searching for a man who climbed into a child’s window early Monday and attempted to sexually assault her.
The break-in happened about 2 a.m. at the Canyon Ridge Mobile Home Park on the 5100 block of Airport Road.
“The juvenile victim was awoken by a knocking sound at her bedroom window,” police said in a news release.
After climbing into the home, the man asked the girl what her name was and tried to pull her underwear down, police said. The child screamed and the suspect fled.
Police say a light-colored, possible Ford or Mercury mini-van was seen in the area roughly 20 minutes before the attempted assault.
Anyone with information on the suspect or the attempted sex assault is asked to call police at (719) 444-7000.
