Re: “Trump: Parisians’ tough gun laws aided attackers,” Nov. 15 news story.

Once again Donald Trump demonstrates his intransigent ignorance by suggesting that the death toll in Paris would have been lower if not for France’s tough gun control laws.

The fact is, the firearms homicide rate in the United States is 16 times higher than in France.

So in terms of gun violence, America would do far better to focus on its own NRA-supported homegrown terrorism, where any guy with a gun and a grudge can inflict mass casualties on a crowd of innocent civilians. Anywhere, anytime.

Somebody please tell me again why so many Americans like target-rich environments, otherwise known as gun-free zones? Maybe an armed, sane, common-sense adult (with a concealed-carry permit) would have prevented some of the carnage in the concert hall in Paris, before the Islamic jihadists could have reloaded, again and again, as they proceeded to shoot fish in a barrel.
