Colorado’s first, state-owned and operated bus system — the Bustang — will begin weekend service on Interstate 70 this Saturday.

The inter-regional express bus service will offer one round trip on Saturdays and Sundays: Glenwood Springs to Denver in the morning, and Denver to Glenwood Springs in the late afternoon.

This is the second expansion of . CDOT began providing non-stop weekend service between Denver Union Station and Colorado State University in Fort Collins in September. “RamsRoute” departs CSU to DUS on Friday afternoons and DUS to CSU on Sunday afternoons.

Bustang operates along the I-70 corridor and on I-25, connecting Fort Collins, Denver and Colorado Springs.

Wilson said Bustang will continue to adjust route scheduling to improve on-time performance and streamline connections with other transit agencies.
