The FBI on Wednesday announced a $10,000 reward in the Pueblo slaying of a 20-year-old man, that investigators believe was a case of mistaken identity or random violence.

Isaiah Vialpando was shot to death Sept. 2 on the 200 block of Court Street, authorities say.

“Evidence shows someone in a red vehicle pulled up alongside the victim, who was in a silver BMW, and fired multiple times,” the FBI said in a news release.

Days before Vialpando was slain, a 39-year-old man was shot as he drove his silver BMW in another part of the city. He survived.

Detectives believe the two shootings are related.

The FBI says its southern Colorado gang task force is investigating the shootings with police.

Pueblo investigators say they have been working with federal agents and prosecutors to battle the in their city which has been blamed for several recent shootings, some of them fatal.

Also in September, a 32-year-old man was a group spray painting gang graffiti behind his home. 21-year-old Timothy Tafoya in that Sept. 14 killing.

Authorities have not announced any arrests in the two BMW shootings.
