Kurt Sonnenfeld maintains his wife Nancy died of a suicide in the early morning hours of January 1, 2002. Denver Police have always thought it was a homicide. CBS News’ “48 Hours” pursues the case Nov. 21, with help from Denver Post reporter Kirk Mitchell.

Sonnenfeld has a new life, a new wife, and is living in Argentina, whose president this week of this Denver fugitive to the U.S.

A sneak peak of “The Strange Case of Kurt Sonnenfeld” is here, with Mitchell recounting the odd story. Former Colorado Governor Bill Owens weighs in as well: “Kurt Sonnenfeld is definitely gaming the system, though someday, hopefully, that game will run out,” Owens says.

It’s an all-Colorado murderous double bill for the CBS News magazine Sunday, with an update on the Harold Henthorn case, included. That story has been covered by “48 Hours” previously, with input from KCNC-Channel 4’s , who asked, “Was Henthorn a victim of very bad luck or is he a Black Widow husband?”
