Saturday. Composer Alban Berg’s “Lulu” is the kind of opera that rarely gets performed by regional companies. The early 20th century work is accessible at its core, but it’s just off-center enough that that only the big outfits with hard-core audiences take on the financial risk of staging it. That makes it perfect fare for New York’s Metropolitan Opera Company, which brings back the piece with German soprano Marlis Petersen, beaming the performance live to movie theaters this weekend. Petersen, who has made a career of “Lulu,” has announced she is done with the role after this production — so see her now or see her never again. Met veteran Susan Graham and Daniel Brenna also star. William Kentridge directs. The show is live at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at nearly two dozen movie theaters across Colorado. $18-$24. Info and tickets at .
