Who are you kidding? You know you’ll have no money left after Black Friday. Smoke your buyer’s remorse away and then head to one of these reasonably priced activities that are high on pot appeal and low on turkey.
Devin the Dude (Nov. 27)
, but it is a dude, and itap a dude who’s been rapping about stoner subjects for a long time (longer than , shorter than ). He’s been called “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper” and routinely makes the lists of most-underrated rappers. The Texas-raised hip-hopper has a good sense of humor and a slow, smooth flow; check out the “” for a good sense of what he’s all about. Tickets for the show at Cervantes’ Masterpiece are $17 online; they go up $3 at the door.
“Faith” (through Dec. 6)
The intense play “Faith,” performed by the Local Theater Company at the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder, has a lot going on — the basic story is that itap about a teenage boy who searches for meaning and a divine sign in a Walmart parking lot — and that makes for some wild and crazy thoughts when you’re in a contemplative mood. The dialogue is at turns dark and funny, and lead actor , who is transgender and recently appeared in the Meryl Streep film “Ricki and the Flash,” is fascinating as the young man. Bonus: Two-for-one tickets on Nov. 28; they’re normally $25.
Push/Pop/Kick: Adaptations of Skateboard Culture (through Dec. 13)
The topics for this art show at Valkarie Gallery at Belmar — the pieces were curated by Mark Bueno — run the gamut from sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll to racism, religion and, well, more sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll. There’s art about skateboarding and art on skateboards, and itap all whimsical and weird and kind of great. Best of all, itap free, and there are about two dozen places to eat within walking distance before or after.
