Kidtopia begins
River Run at Keystone Resort will be filled with Kidtopia events every day starting Nov. 27. Free activities include scavenger hunts, DJ skate parties, fireworks and giant snowball launches. Georgetown Christmas Market

Ski-tree lighting and bonfire
Telluride will host the lighting of a tree made of donated skis wrapped in Christmas lights in Elk Park on Dec. 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Ski Tree Lighting will be followed by the annual tradition of the Ullr’s Ceremonial Ski Burn, in which a giant bonfire of skis is set to show respect for the Saint of Skiers. The event will include music and hot chocolate.
Gingerbread class
The St. Regis Aspen will host a class for children on gingerbread-house design with the St. Regis pastry chef, plus the unveiling of the Gingerbread Hotel, on Dec. 5, 4-6 p.m. $30 per child for the class. 970-920-3300 or
Christmas Eve En Fuego
Head up to Copper Mountain’s Center Village for Christmas Eve En Fuego, noon-7 p.m. Dec. 24. Visitors can see Santa, sing with the Summit Choral Society, join in a rail session, watch the Torchlight Parade down the mountain and fireworks over West Lake.
