Getting your player ready...

Demaryius Thomas’ forgettable night will remain etched in the history books. Sound familiar?

For nearly 58 minutes of the against the Patriots, Thomas went catch-less. None of Brock Osweiler’s 11 pass attempts to Thomas had been caught, resulting in many images of the star receiver walking back to the line of scrimmage with his hands on his hips, shaking his head in frustration.

But the catching drought — and some of the frustration — ended with 2:31 remaining in the fourth quarter, when Thomas pulled in a 36-yard reception. The catch, on a first-and-10 at Denver’s l7-yard line, kicked off a six-play drive that culminated with Andre Caldwell’s four-yard touchdown with 1:15 remaining.

The catch also gave Thomas 6,228 yards on his career and moved him ahead of Ed McCaffrey (6,200) for fourth place on the Broncos’ all-time receiving yards list.

” I was trying to get the ball to D.T. tonight,” Osweiler said. “Obviously, I think the weather played a little bit of a factor into it. It was tough, but the bottom line is that D.T. made a huge play at the end of the game when we needed him most. I think that’s what great players do. No matter what happens in the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter or even early fourth quarter, big players step up in big times and that’s what D.T. did tonight.”
