An Aurora man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his father.

Jason Paul Beamer, 37, faces multiple charges in connection with the death of 68-year-old Robert Beamer, according to an Adams County District Attorney’s Office media release.

Westminster police on Nov. 17, responding to a 911 call, found a beaten and bloodied Robert Beamer at 7250 Newton St., according to the release.

Beamer was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.

His son is also charged with two additional felonies, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury and felony menacing. Jason Beamer also faces one count of violent crime as a sentencing enhancer.

Jason Beamer was advised of the charges he faces on Monday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Jan. 15 in Adams County District Court.
