Broncos running back C.J. Anderson was named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week following his 113-rushing-yard performance that included a 48-yard game-winning touchdown run in overtime against the New England Patriots on Sunday. Anderson finished with two touchdowns, a 7.5-yards-per-carry average (15 carries), and four receptions for 40 yards in the 30–24 victory.

The award is the second such honor of Anderson’s career; he first won it last season for his three-touchdown performance against the Oakland Raiders in Week 17.

The honor is also the Broncos’ second offensive award this season. Quarterback for Week 11, for his performance in the Broncos’ victory over the Bears at Chicago.

The back-to-back offensive player of the week honors have happened only twice before in Broncos history. Running back Mike Anderson was named the conference’s top offensive player in Weeks 13 and 14 of the 2000 season, and quarterbacks Gary Kubiak and John Elway were honored in Weeks 9 and 10, respectively, of the 1984 season.
