‘Who would have thought a ranch could be so cool?’ Shea opens its wide-open Watercolor Collection ranches near Lone Tree

Getting your player ready...

Shea Homes has a grand opening today for two ranch models in what may be the best new location in the entire south metro area: five minutes from office campuses in Lone Tree and Meridian, ten minutes from Park Meadows. Shea’s all-ranch Watercolor Collection models at Stepping Stone in west Parker have wide-open floor plans with standard 3-car garages and options for basement finish. They’re just what the doctor ordered if you’re wanting out of your old two-story, in favor of main-level living with new entertaining space and better energy design.

No surprise that these bright, engaging models are catching the eye of younger buyers, too. “Who would have thought a ranch could be so cool?,” one thirty-something couple asked Shea Homes reps LeAnn Peralta and Missy Saas last week. The couple took a contract — one of three Shea already has for the Watercolor Collection since buyers have been allowed their first peeks inside these.

But this is the time to see these, while Shea Homes still offers introductory prices for its special all-ranch Watercolor Collection enclave being created inside Stepping Stone – right now from the $450s, including lot premium (Shea says prices go up Jan. 1). Shea’s Stepping Stone is at the epicenter of the hot market coming into 2016: It won the MAME Award as Community of the Year for the entire Denver-Boulder area this year; in a part of town where buyer demand is being driven by exceptional commuter access to the South I-25/470 corridor, as well as to all the shopping and dining attractions around Park Meadows.

You can already walk over to Stepping Stone’s landmark Lantern House clubhouse and pool across from the new models – along with Winding Path Park, first of four parks planned, to be matched to 150 acres of open space and seven miles of planned trail.

Meanwhile, you’re going to be wowed by eye-catching interiors decorated by MAME-winning TRIO Environments. They show off options for vastly expanding the basement space with a finish of a recreation area plus a guest suite, and Shea shows some upgrades such as bi-fold doors out to the standard covered patio, to bring the outdoors in.

But the basic space and quality is packaged into the price, notes Peralta, a veteran of new home sales. “These are the nicest standard features I’ve seen at any community I’ve worked on,” she says, pointing to 10-foot ceilings and 8-foot doors on the main level; stainless gas appliances with double oven; and slab granite counters. Shea provides a high-tech pre-wire — and a reasonable upgrade buys a command center to create lighting effects and the ability to operate garage door, locks and lights from Cabo San Lucas if you want, via your smart phone.

What you WON’T see in an area this hot are homes you can move into right away – but Peralta and Saas say that’s a chance to pick your site and order a home done just the way you want it (they have four homes started including one that’ll back to open space). Shea’s Watercolor Collection models are just west of the Lantern House clubhouse. From I-25 just south of Lincoln Avenue take the RidgeGate Parkway exit and head east 2.5 miles to Stepping Stone Circle and east; or from Parker take Mainstreet west past Chambers to Stepping Stone.
