Two people involved in a Wednesday shooting in which a suspect was killed and a Denver police officer was wounded have been identified.

Denver police technician John Ruddy was shot during a pickup of an armed and dangerous felon for another agency, according to a Denver police news release.

Ruddy had surgery for a serious injury to his leg but is expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect, 35-year-old Phillip Munoz, was pronounced dead at the scene of West 25th Avenue and Meade Street.

An autopsy determined Munoz’s died of multiple gunshot wounds.

He had a warrant issued out of Adams County on Nov. 12 from the Thornton Police Department for a charge of assault with serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon.
