From Saturday November 14 to Wednesday November 18, 2015, brokers and leadership of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty (LIV SIR) visited the Sotheby’s Auction House in New York City for the Latin American Modern and Contemporary Art and A. Alfred Taubman American Art auction. Visiting the Auction house provides LIV SIR brokers the opportunity to witness firsthand the foundation on which the powerful Sotheby’s International Realty brand was established, while networking with other agents across the globe.
“The comradery our brokers feel visiting the Sotheby’s Auction House is priceless,” said Shannel Ryan, managing broker of the Cherry Creek office. “Witnessing firsthand the large role the Auction House plays in regards to the development of Sotheby’s International Realty is powerful, and we were thrilled to be a part of it.” In addition to LIV SIR managing broker, Shannel Ryan, who led the team visit, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty brokers Breck Overall, Ethan Bullock, Nate Postlethwait, Yvette Putt, and Maria Vitale attended the event. Brokers had the opportunity to participate in floor shifts within the Auction house, facilitating networking with other agents, both nationally, and internationally, in addition to participating in an Auction House tour and reception. Art on display at Sotheby’s included Latin American Art, which has has grown from a predominantly Mexican art section offered within Sotheby’s Modern Art sales, to world renowned biannual auctions that include over two-hundred years of artistic tradition in the region. Additionally, art from the collection of legendary collector, philanthropist and businessman A. Alfred Taubman, who passed away in April at the age of 91, was on display. The collection comprises more than 500 works stretching from antiquity to contemporary art and is valued in excess of $500 million. Both art auction items pay tribute to the successful luxury brand LIV SIR was founded on.
