GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Brock Boeser scored two goals to help North Dakota rout the University of Denver 5-1 on Friday night, handing the Pioneers their first NCHC loss this season.

DU’s Grant Arnold scored the game’s first goal early in the second period on a tip-in directly in front of the net, but North Dakota (13-2-2, 6-1-0 NCHC) quickly answered with three goals in the period to take a commanding lead.

Drake Caggiula got North Dakota on the scoreboard just 26 seconds after Arnold’s goal.

Austin Pognaski gave the Fighting Hawks a 2-1 lead with a tip-in later in the period, and Boeser closed the frame with his first of two goals.

Boeser tallied his second goal of the game early in the third period, and Nick Schmaltz capped the scoring at the 6:52 mark of the final frame.

The Pioneers (7-4-2, 3-1-1) were unable to capitalize on any of their five power-play opportunities.

Colo. Coll. 2, Miami (Ohio) 1•COLORADO SPRINGS — Hunter Fejes scored two goals in the third period, lifting Colorado College to a victory over Miami (Ohio).

It was the first league victory of the season for the Tigers (2-13-0, 1-6-0-0 NCHC).

Luc Gerdes assisted on both of Fejes’ goals, the last of which came with 2:46 remaining in the game.

Tigers goaltender Jacob Nehama stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced.

Air Force 3, Canisius 2•AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Tyler Ledford scored the go-ahead goal at 15:07 of the third period and the Falcons held on for a hard-fought win.
