Denver will be basking in the 60s through Wednesday this week and even the mountains could get past 40 degrees, forecasters say.

“It’s not going to be a perfectly sunny day but it’s going to stay warm,” Chad Gimmestad, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder said of the Denver metro area.

The front range will have mild weather until later in the week when temperatures will drop back down to the high 30s to low 40s by Friday, Gimmestad said.

The high temperature Monday is expected to be around 60. By Wednesday the high could be around 65 degrees. The normal high temperature for this time of the year is the mid 40s.

Temperatures in the mountains are also expected to be much warmer than usual, with temperatures rising to the 30s and 40s.

There is a slight chance of snow or rain in the mountains Monday night. Through the week, the mountains could get light showers.

The Denver metro area should remain dry until Friday night, when there is a slight chance for rain or snow.
