Colorado Springs police have arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of videotaping women and girls at a King Soopers on two occasions this month.

Darrell Colwell faces allegations of invasion of privacy, a felony, and was taken into custody on Thursday.

“(Colwell) was captured by King Soopers’ video surveillance system, using clandestine methods to videotape victim shoppers who (were) wearing shorts or skirts,” police said in a news release.

Investigators say Colwell made the recordings on Dec. 1 and 3 between 5 and 7 p.m. at the King Soopers at 3620 Austin Bluffs Parkway.

Police say they have only been able to identify one child victim from surveillance recordings and ask anyone else who believes they could have been filmed to contact police at 719-444-7000.

Colwell is being held at the El Paso County jail without bond, records show.
