Noted: Nearly nine months into of Dish Network, the Douglas County satellite TV company has shuffled upper management to “fulfill the company’s strategic goals and align its business to more fully respond to the dynamic pay-TV environment,” the company said in a news release.
Ergen, Dish’s co-founder, remains CEO but gives up the role of president to Erik Carlson. Carlson, previously executive vice president of operations, also picks up the title of Chief Operating Officer.
Bernie Han, Dish’s COO, becomes executive vice president of Strategic Planning and will help Dish push into the wireless industry.
All were internal promotions, according to the company.
Other promotions:
· Vivek Khemka was promoted to Chief Technology Officer and formerly served as DISH’s SVP of Product Management.
· Mike McClaskey: EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer
· Brian Neylon was promoted to EVP of Customer Acquisition and Retention and formerly served as DISH’s SVP of Sales.
· Warren Schlichting was promoted to EVP of Marketing, Programming, and Media Sales and formerly served DISH as SVP of Programming and Media Sales.
· John Swieringa takes over Carlson’s role as EVP of Operations as part of a promotion too. Swieringa served as DISH’s SVP and CIO.
Rob Dravenstott, who most recently served as DISH VP of IT Application Development, has been promoted to SVP and CIO and will report to Swieringa.
Additionally, DISH has appointed Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller Paul Orban, who reports to Swain, as Chief Accounting Officer.
