Re: “Accused Planned Parenthood shooter appears with public defender,” Dec. 1 news story; “Planned Parenthood suspect: “I am guilty … a warrior for the babies”,” Dec. 10 news story.

Why is it necessary to feature the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooter twice in just over a week on the front page with very large photos? Clearly this man has mental illness; clearly he also killed and wounded innocent people and terrified scores more. It seems like nothing but sensationalism to put this man’s photo on the front page, thus giving him the spotlight when he should be so far in the background as to be invisible. None of us, but especially the families of the victims, should be subjected to this.

According to his ex-wife, Colorado Springs shooter Robert Dear Jr. was involved in domestic violence and was against abortion. But he was not inclined to shoot up a Planned Parenthood clinic. Why don’t we hear about what “radicalized him?” We hear nothing but “what radicalized the San Bernardino shooters?” When will you write the truth about this white Christian extremist terrorist? He was radicalized. I wonder whose rhetoric caused that?
