Running back Ronnie Hillman was a full participant in practice Friday and will be a starter, as usual, for the Broncos when they play the Raiders in Denver on Sunday.
C.J. Anderson (ankle) didn’t practice Friday and is listed as questionable for the game. Even if Anderson is able to play Sunday, Juwan Thompson, the Broncos’ No. 3 tailback, probably will get more playing time to limit Anderson’s snaps.
“He’s still very sore,” coach Gary Kubiak said of Anderson. “I think we still have a chance of getting him to game day and him being available for us.”
The Broncos also will be without safety T.J. Ward, who is still recovering from the ankle in- jury he suffered Nov. 29 against New England.
Inside linebacker Danny Trevathan and quarterback Peyton Manning also have been ruled out.
Safeties David Bruton (knee) and Omar Bolden (hamstring), tight end Vernon Davis (concussion) and wide receivers Andre Caldwell (quadriceps) and Bennie Fowler (ankle) are listed as questionable.
Davis was limited in practice Friday for the second consecutive day, but was expected to officially clear the concussion protocol in the afternoon.
Peyton Manning report. Manning could be on the Broncos’ sideline Sunday, but Kubiak said he will meet with the QB to discuss where he will be most comfortable during the game.
Manning watched from the Broncos’ locker room during their most recent home game, against New England, and didn’t travel with the team to San Diego for last Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
“If he wants to do exactly what we did with New England, if he’s more comfortable doing that, that’s fine,” Kubiak said. “I’ll have to visit with him. He worked out (Friday) morning.”
DeMarcus Ware update. Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is listed as probable for the Oakland game after missing four games because of a back injury. His snaps will be limited.
Broncos wardrobe report. The Broncos will wear their alternate blue-on-blue uniforms Sunday.
Denver is 3-0 in those uniforms. The Broncos wore them last year for a “Sunday Night Football” victory over San Francisco, a game in which Manning set the career passing touchdowns record.
Family comes first for Ed McCaffrey. Ed McCaffrey, a former Broncos wide receiver who is the color analyst for KOA radio’s game-day coverage of the team, won’t be able to attend Sunday’s game.
McCaffrey won’t be back from a trip to New York, where he will attend Saturday night’s Heisman Trophy award ceremony.
His son, Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, is one of three Heisman finalists.
ESPN analyst Mark Schlereth, a former Broncos guard, will fill in Sunday for McCaffrey on the KOA broadcast.
