Getting your player ready...

Chris Harris. Aqib Talib. Michael Schofield. No matter who was asked in the Broncos’ locker room Monday, each said the same thing: The team has turned the page from its loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and is focusing on Pittsburgh.

“It’s a pivotal game for us to bounce back, and I think we can do it,” cornerback Harris said.

“You just have to let it go. It’s a long season, and we had a bad game. We didn’t finish the game, and we beat ourselves. You don’t want to dwell on it anymore.”

RECAP:

Locker-room cohesion.

A dominant defense, coupled with a lacking offense, has the potential to break apart a locker room. But the Broncos insist it hasn’t happened.

“Frustration is a part of football,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “If you play long enough or coach long enough in this business, you’ll be on the side that everybody says is doing something really good and you might be on the side at some point in your career where people say it’s not too good. That’s part of being a team.”

KISZLA:

Safety injury update.

No position in Denver has been hit harder with injuries than safety. Strong safety T.J. Ward, who injured his left ankle against New England, has missed the past two games but is making progress in his recovery.

Kubiak said he met with Ward on Monday morning and believes he is close to returning. But fellow safety Darian Stewart strained his hamstring in the loss to Oakland. Each is day to day.

Footnotes.

Guard Evan Mathis played only 35 percent of the Broncos’ offensive plays Sunday because of a nagging ankle injury. … Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware played 15 snaps, but Kubiak said his playing time will increase at Pittsburgh. … Kubiak said he hopes running back C.J. Anderson (ankle) returns to practice at full strength this week.
