
Platteville-based oil and gas exploration firm Synergy Resources Corp. named a new CEO on Monday.
Company president Lynn Peterson, , will take over as chief executive when current co-CEOs Ed Holloway and William Scaff step down Dec. 31.
Holloway and Scaff will remain on Synergy’s board of directors and will also act as advisers for Peterson through next May.
“We have the utmost confidence in Lynn Peterson, and the talented industry veterans he has recruited, to take Synergy to a higher level in the development of its assets,” Holloway said in a statement. “Synergy will remain focused, disciplined and efficient under Lynn’s guidance, and we feel now is the appropriate time to hand over the management responsibilities to him.”
Peterson was the co-founder and former chief executive of Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp., which in a $6 billion deal.
Synergy’s core operations are in the Wattenberg Field of the Denver-Julesburg Basin. in Denver in August.
