
1 Rides from strangers. Three women agreed to pay a random man $1 per mile if he would drive them from Lakewood to their home in the 14400 block of East Mississippi Avenue. Along the way, the man suspected the women weren’t going to pay him, so he drove past their exit. When he stopped, the women, who thought they were being kidnapped, ran. One of the women was later cited for not paying the man.
2 Liquor store robbery. A man walked into Nick’s Liquor at 12030 E. Colfax Ave., grabbed two 12-pack cases of Montejo beer and walked out Nov. 12, telling the clerk that someone who used to work there owed him money.
3 Home heist. Someone broke open a man’s back patio door Nov. 16 in the 18800 block of East Warren Drive and stole his TV, two laptops, two guns, 600 rounds of ammunition and 120 pills of Viagra and Cialas.
4 Hole in the fence. The manager of Spec Building Materials at 14777 E. 35th Place called police Nov. 16 because someone stole 16 semi-truck tires totaling almost $13,000 from the yard. The suspects had cut the chain link fence.
5 Victim and witness. A man stepped outside his apartment in the 1600 block of North Clinton Street to have a cigarette when he noticed another man hovering around his parked car Nov. 24. The loiterer then broke the man’s window in front of him. He yelled, and the suspect ran off.
6 Stolen purse. While shopping at the ARC Thrift at 10000 E. Colfax Ave., a woman’s purse was taken. The victim didn’t see anyone do it, but she said she had it when she went into the store Nov. 24.
