The attacks on Paris was one of the top Google news searches this year — landing at number 2 for Google’s news-searches by Denver users.

The Denver area may be known for business start-ups, outdoor sports and legal marijuana, but if you want to know what we’re really interested in, take a look at what we searched for on Google this year: Lamar Odom (twice!), Hurricane Patricia and Jurassic World.

Google released its top searches this morning as part of its annual to share what the nation searches for. Denver results mimic in some areas: Lamar Odom made it to the top “trending searches” and “trending people for Denver and nationwide. Ditto with the movie “Jurassic World” for top movies.

While made it to the top 10 in Denver, most of our searches were far from local.

We’re still very much interested in sports, especially the Broncos and their weekly schedule. Four of the top 10 trending searches were sports related. Meanwhile, two of the trending searches were current or former spouses of the celebrity Kardashian clan.

In Denver’s trending news events, the top search was October’s Hurricane Patricia, a tropical cyclone that began brewing in the eastern Pacific Ocean and made its way into Mexico. But not Denver.

We also sought out more information about the night sky, with “Lunar Eclipse” at number five, while “Blood Moon” followed at number six. The Paris attacks and this year’s political debates also made the top 10 for news.
