
FORT CARSON — A former Fort Carson soldier Monday was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison after he was found to have more than 12,000 images of child pornography, several years after he was court-martialed for the same crime, according to the Grand Forks Herald in North Dakota.
Alan Douglas Eslinger, 44, pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child porn and three counts of possession of child porn in U.S. District Court in Fargo, N.D., the newspaper reports.
A registered sex offender and former U.S. Army medic who was living in rural Northwood, N.D., Eslinger also was sentenced to a lifetime of supervised release, the newspaper reports.
In September 2014, investigators found 12,000 images and 900 videos of child porn on his laptop, the newspaper reports.
