Hideo Kojima — best known for creating the Metal Gear series — has left Konami and started his own video-game production company in Kojima Productions.
In a YouTube video released by Sony on Tuesday, Kojima said the studio will work to build a new franchise for the PlayStation.
“I’m excited to tell you that the first title from this new studio is a collaboration with PlayStation,” Kojima says via translation in the video. “I’m thrilled to embark on creating a new franchise with PlayStation that will give you all a new and innovative gaming experience so please stay tuned.”
Nothing has been announced as to what the game is or when it will be released.
