You’ve probably already seen Facebook’s Year in Review feature. It shows you a handful of photos you’ve uploaded over the year. You feel fuzzy for a second, and then you forget about it until next year, and the cycle continues.
Spotify has followed suit with a personalized year-end wrap-up of their own. Except theirs is actually pretty interesting. Provided you have an account, Spotify’s Year in Music will fetch all kinds of dinner-party worthy data about your music habits in 2015.
For example: I listened to an embarrassing amount of Ryan Adams this year and racked up 300 hours of total playtime on the streaming service. The program also tells you what your most listened to album was, the first song you listened to in 2015 and how many different artists you played among a handful of other stats.
Even though Facebook shows you pictures of you and your friends, this somehow feels more personal–like if the NSA was really concerned with the state of how every American’s taste in somber folk rock ramps up during the colder months. (It literally gives you a season-by-season breakdown of your music habits towards the end.)
Try it out for yourself .
