A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist on Interstate 70 in Arvada Saturday night.

Arvada Police spokeswoman Jill McGranahan said it’s not clear why the man who was killed on the westbound side of I-70 was on foot, but she said the driver who hit him stopped and was “very cooperative” with police.

She said drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the incident, which occurred west of Wadsworth Boulevard just before 9 p.m. She said no charges against the driver, who is also male, are being considered at this time.
