El Paso County authorities have arrested a second man in connection with Sunday west of Colorado Springs.
Henry Justin Henriquez, 29, is suspected in the case of several charges, including first-degree burglary, child abuse, robbery, felony menacing and kidnapping.
The county sheriff’s office announced his arrest Monday evening, saying he was taken into custody by tactical police officers in Colorado Springs.
Eli Carlos Hahn, 28, was booked into jail on Sunday in the case and faces similar charges.
Hahn and Henriquez are suspected of breaking into a home in Cascade off U.S. 24 on Sunday morning. Seven people inside the building when the home invasion happened were unharmed.
SWAT officers cleared the home after several hours after authorities were first called to the scene. A motive for the home invasion has not been released.
Investigators say undisclosed evidence in the home will likely lead authorities to make more arrests. The standoff closed U.S. 24 for several hours.
Anyone with more information on the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 719-390-5555.
